Utah's Other Parks |
| |
Besides Zion National Park, Utah offers many other national parks and monuments, including Bryce Canyon National Park, which is famous for its unique geology of red rock spires and horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters.
In Moab, Utah, you’ll find over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, like the world-famous Delicate Arch at Arches National Park. Or, visit Canyonlands National Park, which preserves a colorful landscape eroded into countless canyons, mesas and buttes by the Colorado River and its tributaries.
Check out the The Waterpocket Fold at Capitol Reef National Park in Torrey, Utah, a 100-mile long wrinkle in the earth's crust known as a monocline, which extends from nearby Thousand Lakes Mountain to the Colorado River (now Lake Powell).
Resting on top of the Colorado plateau, at over 10,000 feet in elevation, Cedar Breaks National Monument in Cedar City, Utah, offers breathtaking views of a giant amphitheater that spans three miles and is more than 2,000 feet deep.
Visit Timpanogos Cave National Monument in American Fork, Utah, which sits high in the Wasatch Mountains, consisting of three spectacularly decorated caverns as visitors climb to the cave entrance, on a hike gaining over 1,000 ft in elevation, they are offered incredible views of American Fork Canyon
In Brigham City, Utah, the Golden Spike National Historic Site commemorates the incredible accomplishment of the completion of America's first transcontinental railroad. Or, see Natural Bridges National Monument, Blanding, Utah, for the finest examples of natural stone architecture in the southwest. Then, visit the world’s largest known natural bridge at Rainbow Bridge National Monument.
